Every device we review is rated on 10 transparent dimensions. We explain exactly how each score is calculated so you can verify our work — or disagree with us and know why.

Test Conditions
How We Actually Test
Environment: Suburban, urban, and rural routes in the United States. We test in rain, heat, and cold weather when possible.
Duration: Each device is tested for a minimum of 3 weeks of continuous use. This includes daily tracking, multiple charging cycles, and deliberate stress tests (e.g., signal-obstructed areas, vibration, and water exposure).
Tester Background: Our reviewers are experienced GPS users with years of hands-on experience in fleet management, family safety, and hardware teardown. We are not lab technicians — we test the way real people use these devices.
Limitations: We cannot test every possible cellular network or geographic region. If a device performs poorly in our test area, it may perform differently elsewhere. We note any such uncertainty in our reviews.
Scoring Update Policy
We re-score products when there are significant changes: major firmware updates, price changes, new subscription tiers, or new competing products that shift the market. If a score changes, we update the review and note the reason and date of the change. If we find that our original score was wrong, we correct it publicly and explain what we learned.
Conflict of Interest Disclosure
We sometimes receive review units from manufacturers. This does not influence our scores. We do not accept payment for reviews, and we do not allow manufacturers to review our content before publication. If a product is sent to us for free, we disclose it in the review. If we have any other relationship with a manufacturer, we disclose it prominently.
